Online Studies Program – NEW CLASSES ADDED
Taught by industry professionals, the Joe Kubert School’s Online Studies Program presents the student with a six-week intensive designed for them to learn by instruction and critique. The Online Studies program is a great way to hone your skills and knowledge as a cartoonist.
THESE ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE FULL-TIME PROGRAM.
- Evenings from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm ET (unless otherwise noted), once a week.
- Each class takes place over six weeks for a total of 6 sessions.
- Classes taught through Google Meet and Google Classroom.

Writing for Comics - WEDNESDAYS

Writer James Robinson is an award-winning comics creator known for Starman and The Golden Age. This spring, he’ll teach Writing for Comics, guiding students through crafting scripts, developing characters, and building compelling comic book stories.

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of digital coloring for comics and illustration. From flatting and rendering to color theory and lighting, students will learn industry-standard techniques using tools like Photoshop. Perfect for aspiring colorists or artists looking to enhance their digital workflow, this class emphasizes storytelling through color and developing a professional coloring portfolio.
Traditional Inking - TUESDAYS

Learn the fundamentals of traditional inking with instructor JP Buzio. In this class, the student will learn how to use the various tools involved to bring penciled artwork to an inked finish.
